Dr. Yao Sun, Chief of Neonatology, is medical director of the William H. Tooley Intensive Care Nursery at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
His expertise includes medical informatics, a field that combines medicine and computer science, which he uses to keep the intensive care nursery on the cutting edge. Sun came to UCSF from Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, where he was director of neonatology.
Dr. Yao earned his medical degree at UCLA and a doctorate in computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in neonatology at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr.Palma is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine at Stanford University. Dr Chua Mei Chien is a Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Neonatology and Head, Special Care Nursery, in KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).
Her special area of interest is neonatal nutrition, especially nutrition of the preterm infant. She has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based protocols for nutritional management of preterm infants, nurse-led feeding pathway and has won cluster and nationals awards for her work in promoting breastfeeding, her contributions to the Sale of Infant Foods Ethics Committee Singapore (SIFECS) as well as clinical service excellence.
Dr Chua is the Chairperson of the hospital's Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and is instrumental in steering KKH to achieve baby friendly accreditation in June 2014 and March 2017. After completion of residency in pediatrics, he started specialty training at Children’s Hospital at Osaka City and completed his training at Osaka City General Hospital.
He is on the Board of Japanese Society for Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine. He is also the President elect of Federation of Asia and Oceanian Perinatal Societies. His primary research interests include network databases and neonatal respiratory care.
Dr. Gautam Yadav completed his MBBS from Sion Hospital, Mumbai, DCH from Bangalore Medical College and his DNB from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. His areas of interest include neonatal intensive care and hospital management. He is an active advisor in CHI India and is managing Kalawati Hospital and Kamla Nursing Home in Haryana (India).
Dr. Suchi Saria directs the Machine Learning and Healthcare Lab at Johns Hopkins University. She is interested in enabling new classes of diagnostic and treatment planning tools for healthcare that use statistical machine learning techniques to tease out subtle information from “messy” observational datasets, and provide reliable inferences for individualizing care decisions.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, she did her PhD at Stanford with Dr. Daphne Koller. She has spent a year at Harvard University collaborating with Dr. Ken Mandl and Dr. Zak Kohane as an NSF Computing Innovation Fellow.
Saket Anand is an Assistant Professor at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi. He completed his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University in 2013. He was part of the Robust Image Understanding Lab at Rutgers and his current research interests are design of robust statistical methods for heavily corrupted data, 3D scene reconstruction techniques and semi-supervised clustering methods.
